Rationale
Horizon Run 5 (HR5) is a cosmological hydrodynamical simulation of a flat Lambda CDM universe. It captures the properties of the Universe on a Gpc scale while achieving a resolution of 1 kpc. This enormous dynamic range allows us to simultaneously capture the physics of the cosmic web on very large scales and account for the formation and evolution of dwarf galaxies on much smaller scales.
The HR5 Collaboration has started in 2015 and is continuing for ten years till now. With the upgraded MPI-OpenMP RAMSES code the HR5 simulation has been made in 2019 and the first HR5 paper was published in 2021. Since then quite a few papers have been published, and there are still on-going projects. Thanks to the unprecedented dynamic range of HR5, many important scientific achievements have been made. This second HR5 collaboration meeting will be an opportunity for the HR5 members to share their exciting results and progresses with others. The meeting is also intended for discussing a new round of future collaboration. You can find the Horizon Run 5 papers: here
